Writer Arthur Koestler had a word for it - "Holon" - in his famous book The Act of Creation. It refers to situations where something is both complete in itself and part of something bigger. Like the O5. Which, by the way, celebrates both simplicity and sophistication, a striking and perfectly constructed piece of luxury furniture that you can expect to enjoy with your guests.
We are opposed to the standardization of the mass product. We abhor uniformity. We oppose the coercion of geometry. We believe modern technology frees designers to embrace the influences of the natural world. Our imaginations soar, unleashed by the possibilities of digital design and new aquatic, wild and free, and we learn from it.
We recognize two deities, without being their worshippers: Eris, goddess of chaos, whose certain secrets were revealed when mathematicians unlocked the formulas that revealed the structures of flowers, clouds, those shapes that had captivated us in the nature but escaped our understanding. Eros, god of love, whose power we will never truly understand and whose passions drive us to the heights of human excellence, to reach the peak of our abilities in the name of something with exits beyond the language and pulsations in each of us.
With these twin influences that shape our thinking, we aim to capture forms that would not exist without us to bring them into the world. Being moved by what I haven't experienced before. Being comfortable with ambiguity and being guided by our hearts when mapping the unknown. Our conception is about relationships, and in particular those of nature and the human body. We don't respond as problem solvers, but as poets.
Our credo is one of beauty and how beauty could find new forms in this era of technical genius. By offering new forms to the world, we wish to improve the lives of those who encounter what we do in our work. We want people to engage in what we do with joy, with sensual appreciation, with joy and curiosity, with a renewed sense of possibility. Above all, we reject the linear, both as a design element and as a style of thinking. This glorious world we inhabit was not designed for the convenience of straight lines. Its principles are beyond our understanding, and only by seeking to approach them can we approach a state of being that reflects the truth of our environment.

We know that we know very little - and that we can learn. And we learn best from nature's solutions, it turns out. This approach explains the very distinctive aspect of our work. We are confident in creating pieces that look radical, we recognize something that nature has done forever. We consider ourselves lucky to live in a time when computer technologies allow us to design and instruct forms that would have been impossible with traditional methods. We also have access to materials that in some cases didn't even exist a few years ago, and the production capacity to make up to 100 of each model in a year. Mother Nature is an exquisite teacher. And we continue to learn, and look forward to learning more, in the years to come.
