BIOGRAPHY
Santiago de Chile, 1959
Fernando Alday was born in Santiago de Chile in 1959 and he has lived in Barcelona during 20 years. He has had a long artistic career with exhibitions in Europe and Unit States. He has given exhibitions in galleries all around the country and abroad.
Of special importance is the exhibition he gave in 2000 at the Malborough Gallery in Santiago de Chile and the exhibitions at the Barcelona Artur Ramon Galley and Jordi Barnadas. He has also participated at European Art Fairs like St'art (Strasburg) and Miart (Milan), Art Karlsruhe (Germany), Art Bodensee ( Austria) , Art Fair Cologne (Germany)…
Through collages, Fernando Alday seeks to show the passing of time. The old documents and personal letters that he uses to expressthe importance of history in his work. Private and small stories become a part of the great art history. Fernando Alday conscientiously uses this precious material and creates contemporary works of art, with strong symbolic components.
