Presentation
Her painting represents her and expresses everything she wants to say, it is part of herself, and is the extension of the Caribbean which vibrates within her and which comes to life through her own experiences, her daily life, music , the color, the heat of the sun, the humidity of the air, the shouts of the street, the carnival, the explosive and luminous colors – unique and ephemeral facts and elements which make her a woman equally singular and diverse.
What she paints is an ode to the joy of living. It is the metaphor of its landscape and its smile. An offering in which each canvas reveals it a little more. It is also the voluptuousness of the bright colors mixing without complex, the overwhelming humid heat of the tropics and the dazzling light which explodes on his canvases to communicate happiness and affection.
For all these reasons, through this new work, she continues to appropriate all the natural and cultural elements of the Caribbean, bathed in the direct light that envelops the street vendors roaming the beach; the “palenqueras" who, with a swaying step, offer their sweet fruits to satisfy the thirst and curiosity of tourists; the buoy sellers whose burden transforms them into strange characters disappearing gracefully under the shapes and volumes of their goods, like ghosts floating on their legs, curious silhouettes which approach then move away.
This is what it is: the Caribbean expression which inhabits every stroke of his painting.
