In these works I relate aspects that have struck me from my close environment, transitions, doubts and changes. These foster my current work and mediate to turn it into a primary activity that creates alternative possibilities.
It does not happen immediately, it is after years of work and observation of the drawings, collages and watercolors that the abstraction within of the orthogonal frame, the free composition, what is excluded, and the monochrome color. The result, in my opinion, is an invitation to the illusion of space, perhaps fragile.
The place - the paper - and the extended practice of making go beyond the technique, to evoke something intangible. Shapes without meaning, tones, texture, transparency, proportions. The nuances are perceived over time, it is perhaps time, the only exceptional resource it requires, the rest are simple elements.
In the works, I borrow the mineral origin of graphite and its metallic and transmitting tone to run through the surface of the paper through the repetition of lines. In the watercolors, water is what writes, in the collage the cut. Paper and vacuum take on a relevant importance. They tense the space occupied by signs and forms, turning the place into an object: a fertile place, the blank paper.
The changing identity, the multiplicity of perception and memory, the qualities of the material, or the interest in language, have resonances with the place and its plasticity. Weight-light- ness, solid-fluid, readable-illegible, fragile-resistant... and all the asymmetries that exist when attempting to name things of a dynamic nature.
These premises are the nexus of all my artistic practice to the present day and which has been forming a body of work that sometimes appears obsessive in the process. It reflects the mental connections that process, organize and categorize information while the work is made but also before and after, turning the experience into another performative layer of intimate interaction and long temporality. What emerges from it, between what is spontaneous and what is planned, is reflective and essential in nature. It is what it is, but why?
Objects and signs that are fragmented, overlapped, duplica- ted or interfered with and are meant to be paid attention and breathed in. I draw attention to the modesty of a technology that can move because of its complexity. I wish to contribute to the sensitivity of the viewer, through the repeated silences as a vehicle of communication of open options, but beyond that, it has no importance.

Presentation
As many others, Teresa started painting when she was very young, she had her first classes with Albert Alís in Mataró, a well-known artist in the region. She graduated from the University of Barcelona in Fine Arts in 2005 and obtained a masters from the same university in 2006. Currently she also teaches at the same University.
In the beginning of her career she was influenced by the impressionists, and later on we see influences from oriental (Japanese) art. Now, completely abstract, we see the influence of American abstract artists like Cy Twombly.
Teresa doesn´t see any other future than painting. Her future will be to continue searching for the sensitive, mysterious beauty she wants to transmit to us by painting and drawing.
Teresa was selected in 2012 for the Bienal d’Art Contemporàni Català. In 2013 she had an exposition in the Museum of Vilassar de Mar, and she recently had a solo show “Estrats” at the Acadèmia de Belles Arts de Sabadell (2014).
In 2017 Pera completed her Master’s study at the University of Barcelona. Currently her work is at the JCE Biennale from 2017 – 2019, representing the Spain.
