"No Return" by Eric Robitaille who demonstrates a unique combination of vibrant realism and modern abstract. Building each painting using a very complex construction of high quality detailing and layers, Robitaille allows a large space for abstract process and flow. Eric Robitaille is a self-taught contemporary artist from Montreal, Quebec. He has shown works in several exhibitions across Canada, and is currently represented by galleries in Quebec and Ontario. A contemporary artist from Montreal, Quebec, Eric Robitaille has a graphic design and illustration background. Diverse animal and plant life play a large role in his recent series, primarily to symbolize human behavior and life mechanics. His animal subjects display human characteristics and virtues, while carrying messages of “being your best self”. Through many years of experimentation, Eric Robitaille's style has evolved from hyper-realism to a unique mixture of abstraction and surrealism. The distinctive integration of contrasting elements, graphic text, colours and layers result in creations that are visually intriguing and dynamic, but above all communicate to perfection the story and significance of each piece. This piece is sold unframed, but we are happy to offer framing consultation and services if required.

Presentation
Eric Robitaille is a self-taught artist from Montreal, born in Terrebonne. He has shown works in several group and solo shows across Canada. Through many years of experimentation, he came to develop a very unique style of realism combined with colorful abstract.
His extensive background in graphic design allows him to create custom stencils for certain motifs and geometric shapes that would otherwise be impossible to achieve free-hand. This introduces a distinct contrast to the canvas, which he then uses to create balance or unbalance in certain areas of the piece.
Other than the brush and spatula, his camera and computer are key tools in creating his pieces; although his canvases remain 100% oil creations. Multiple layers and scratching are two other techniques used in every piece.
His main objective is the integration of various elements, colors and layers so that the canvas is inviting to the eye, but above all communicates to perfection the story and significance of each piece. Animal and plant life play a large role in his recent series, primarily to symbolize human behavior and life mechanics.
