Benoit Mauduech was born in 1969. He became aware of the art world early on thanks to the influence of his family. He joined the Institut des Gobelins in Paris and graduated in 1989. He took his first steps in professional life with fashion and advertising photography and signed national and international campaigns. He even explores the commercial. His poetic and singular photographs are nourished by purity and freedom. By staging strange characters veiled by bags or golden sheets in natural landscapes, he invites reflection on the human condition. In 2014, he was introduced to painting to free himself from reality. He expresses his ever-poetic vision resulting from his knowledge of light and his attraction to nature. He transmits his vision of the future in a complete and attractive universe, with the aim of preparing for the world of tomorrow. This world, devoid of anguish, is governed by chance, energy and the power of nature. He starts from his uncertainties to depict a world where all hypotheses are possible, while reflecting the dynamics of current society. He imagines a new man, freed from his dependence on the terrestrial world. His optimism, his poetry and his fantasy inscribe him in magical realism. He also uses a lot of gold, eternal, precious and transcendent. His portraits are immediately identifiable: large mouthless eyes, perfectly reflecting the artist's conviction that one must “discover the world, not talk about it”.
