The impermanence associated with all sorts of situations, casualties and tragedy is configured as his aesthetic of choice, permeated by archetypal and "universal images". His works have their own sense of harmony and sometimes lead to an initial estrangement because they present an almost absence of finishing and refinement. The artist highlights corrections and imperfections, not as a mere curiosity in the process of creating the work but with the specific objective of evoking feelings of carelessness and abandonment correlated to the subject. Presentation
Born in a small Brazilian town with many Japanese immigrants, Edu Verenguel was influenced mainly by its rich iconography. The allegories that prevail in this culture, of disenchantment, illusion, impermanence expressed by catastrophe and the feeling of imminent tragedy, creating all kinds of confusion, calamities and commotions, are present in his works. His production is unique and curiously magnetic to the eye, responsive to the evocations that exist in the collective psyche and at the same time completely unconventional.
