Artwork sold in perfect condition

Artwork location: Canada

This painting is of an old acquaintance of mine using a photo I took of him for reference. He had purchased my painting ( hanging in the background ) and I thought this would make an interesting artwork. I am now offering it for sale.
** Due to the size, it will be sent rolled in a tube and you may then have it easily mounted at your local framer.
As the sides of the canvas are 2 inches in depth and painted grey, you do not need a frame for displaying purposes unless you wish to do so.

John Kaltenhauser, Steve's Place

Presentation

Artist Statement:

Bio:
John's fascination with drawing germinated at a very early age, and he was painting in acrylics by the time he was nine. Although having had some basic art training, John is primarily self taught.
An insurgent, restive temperament precluded any further formal education and the next ten years were gradatively consumed in a haze of Bohemian distraction and blue collar bondage.
In 1979, those artistic aspirations resurfaced with a vengeance and Kaltenhauser applied himself with a total and almost rabid dedication. Those years of single-minded exertion have resulted in an independently achieved following in Canada, the United States and Europe, and clients have included a number of corporations and celebrities.
Kaltenhauser's taciturn nature predisposes his art to speak for him, and fortunately - his paintings speak volumes. They ask only that we feel, that we feel the life on the canvas.

Artsist statement:
Working as a full time artist for over 40 years, my painting career has included an eclectic mix of subject matter. From earlier
explorations into pop art , surrealism, urban and rural culture, the subject matter eventually gravitated to the landscape genre. Enjoying the pleasures of camping and canoeing from an early age, the Canadian Northland plays an important part for the inspiration of my work . I aim to create a mood of calm and reflection that is emphatically conveyed to the viewer.

Education:

Self taught

Artistic Influences:

Artsits I have admired and drawn inspiration from include Edward Hopper, Andrew Wyeth and Ken Danby.
