Artwork sold in perfect condition

Artwork location: Germany

My model belongs to the young, so-called Generation Z (born 1995-2012), the 1st post-digital generation that grew up with digitization. I have shown her in black and white in an everyday situation in order to remove the time factor, since the needs for love and recognition as well as the fears have not changed fundamentally in the last 50 years. I related my motif to red pixels. The reason why red (maybe you know it from your TV screen) is because it is faulty pixels, so-called stuck pixels. I would like to point out that we should of course use the possibilities of digitization, but also have to critically question them in some areas and that we must not lose our humanity. This painting was painted using very traditional methods, like all my works. I only use high quality oil paints, linseed oil and turpentine oil on canvas. The finished painting is completely dry and provided with a final varnish. It is framed with a floater frame made of wood (white) and ready to hang. I pack the work carefully and send it insured. The painting comes with a certificate of authenticity, which I have signed.

Presentation

Artist Statement:

I live and work as a freelance artist in the beautiful german city Bonn on the Rhine river. After studying architecture, I worked for years as an architect in Cologne and Frankfurt/Main. Later I also completed a degree in painting and graphics in the master class of Dr. Piotr Sonnewend at the Institute for Fine Arts and Art Therapy (IbKK) in Bochum. Since then I have been working as a freelance artist. I am a member of the Association of Visual Artists BBK Bonn, Rhein-Sieg e.V.

In my painting, the focus of my artistic work is on the young people of Generation Z (born 1995 - 2012, the 1st post-digital generation), who grew up with digitalization. This is what I aesthetically implement this internalization of the digital world as a snapshot in my realistic oil paintings. Due to the reduced, broken color palette and the resulting soft color tone, the poetic effect of my pictures and graphics is intensified.
My works are regularly shown in selected solo and group exhibitions and have already been awarded the "art'pu:l Windeck Art Prize 2014" and the "Art Prize Painting 2012" by the Uhrturm-Galerie Dierdorf.
