Original work by SLAVENA BUNNY, signed titled and numbered 1/8 at the bottom right in the work (unfalsifiable), then signed titled and numbered 1/8 also by hand on the back by the Artist. The artist offers here her personal vision of “The Origin of the World" by Gustave Courbet transposed by a “Double-View" process into our contemporary world. By moving around, the viewer discovers the Work of the Musée d'Orsay corresponding to the canons of contemporary beauty. COURBET's famous canvas is revisited without hairiness. For SLAVENA BUNNY the return to the Art History in its “Double View" makes the link between the past and the present while leaving a trace of the evolution of our current world for future generations.

Imagine it at home

SLAVENA BUNNY, THE ORIGIN
United States  • 1983

Presentation

SLAVENA BUNNY is an American artist born in 1983. Her adoptive mother introduced her to Art at a very young age. She accompanies her from a very young age to the evening classes of Fine Arts. She painted nudes there, quantities of female/male nudes with acrylic painting and oil, always from live models. The result is an accumulation of paintings of women in all postures which will be stored at home. His father in law, a lover of women in their nature, will introduce her through his many stories to the discovery of the eternal feminine which intrigues and fascinates men so much. These revelations will provide SLAVENA BUNNY with a certain understanding of the complexity of male/female relationships, feminism and the war between the sexes which is playing out at the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st in democratic countries. The artist offers her vision of what constitutes Woman in particular, the constants of its constituents throughout the centuries, in other words the timelessness of women.

Passionate both by the classic paintings of the great Masters of the Art history  but also by Contemporary Art, the result is a work of symbiosis between these 2 worlds which takes as its subject the evolution of feminine codes of From then to today such as the mutation of social rules, canons of beauty or new trends in sexuality (Cosplay, Cybersex, Role Playing, etc.)

SLAVENA BUNNY then goes through several series of works, such as that of the "Cosmogonies" (spheres and spirals which can be related to both galaxies or the original matrix orifice) then those of the "Plastifications" where she covers a whole pile objects and products derived from black plastic and gold leaf burned with a blowtorch. The return to the History of Art in its latest series of “Doubles Vues” makes the link between the past and the present while leaving a trace of the evolution of our world for future generations.
