This captivating artwork portrays a delicate ballerina, poised in mid-movement against a somber, inky backdrop. The composition is striking in its simplicity, with the dancer emerging from the darkness, her form rendered in ethereal, almost ghostly hues that capture the fluidity and grace of her performance. The painter employs a masterful blend of whites, reds, and subtle hints of yellows to bring the ballerina's attire to life. Her tutu radiates with movement, the soft brushstrokes creating a sense of dynamic motion that contrasts sharply with the serene resolution of her form. A red accent on her head, possibly a flower or a ribbon, draws the eye and provides a focal point, enhancing the piece's overall balance. The background, a near-void of deep, textural darkness, serves to amplify the illumination of the dancer, heightening the drama and focus of the image. This void is not merely an absence but a space that echoes with possibilities, allowing the viewer's imagination to fill in the narratives of her dance. The artist's technique in playing with light and shadow is noteworthy, creating a surreal ambiance that captures the ephemeral beauty of the moment. The use of negative space is a bold choice, one that adds depth and an almost three-dimensional quality to the composition. This piece, with its haunting elegance and refined minimalism, offers a glimpse into the transcendent world of ballet, celebrating the fleeting beauty of dance through a lens of both mystery and admiration. It is a testament to the artist's ability to evoke emotion and movement with a few deft strokes, leaving an indelible impression on the viewer.
Painting with one ballet dancer, in pastel on paper, framed with woodframe and glass.

Presentation
Kc.Paillard, born in 1977 in Paris (France), grown up in Stockholm (Sweden), is a Franco-Swedish artist who lives in the south of France and works between Nice and Stockholm. She draws her inspiration from her legacy, double culture, Art History, the beauty of nature, the northern and southern light and skies, as well as her emotions and dreams. Her items are like her, at the crossroads of this genuine and warm handicraft that has been decorating the Swedish homes for centuries and an original French piece of art.
She has been painting for several years using dry pastels on canvas. Her work is an abstract dreamlike painting where the colours, the textures and the multiple layers of matter expand to create big fields of colours. Her pictural style is a sensitive and original combination, fluctuating between Abstract Expressionism and Color Field Painting (Helen Frankenthaler, Rothko, Emil Nolde, Degas).
Kc.Paillard has studied Fine Arts in Vallauris (France) for 1 year, in order to get a classic formation. Then she studied Contemporary Art in Nice (France) during 4 years. Eventually, she obtained a Master degree in Art History at the University of Montpellier (France) after 5 years. Her master's thesis were about Graffiti and Street Art (4th year) and Scandinavian Design (5th year).
