This striking and evocative artwork features a monkey, seated, absorbed in the screen of a smartphone that he holds tightly in his hand. The primate, drawn in black and white with remarkable precision, displays an intense facial expression, evoking contemplation and perplexity. Around him, a colorful constellation of icons of modern applications such as Netflix, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Google, Snapchat, Spotify and others, invade the space. These familiar symbols of social networks and digital platforms form a sharp contrast with the image of the monkey, reinforcing the dichotomy between biological evolution and technological progress. The artist succeeds in capturing and synthesizing a sharp critique of contemporary society, depicting our increasing dependence on technology and social media. The choice of the monkey, an animal often seen as a primitive reflection of man, emphasizes the message about the instinctive and sometimes irrational nature of our use of modern technologies. Eznop is a Street Art artist, born in 1983 in the East of France, who has managed to transpose the energy of the streets onto the canvas, creating powerful figurative works. Initially inspired by the walls of his neighborhood, Eznop quickly adopted paintings as his main medium, offering a new dimension to his artistic expression. His figurative works are marked by characters and scenes from everyday life, where he skillfully mixes realism and abstraction to capture intense emotions.
Strongly influenced by urban culture, Eznop preserves in his paintings the spirit of Street Art: spontaneity, audacity and a direct connection with the viewer. He uses a variety of techniques and materials, such as acrylic spray paint, airbrush, Posca markers or even brushes, which allows him to play with textures and effects to bring his characters to life. Each work tells a story, often linked to its environment and the human experiences he observes around him. With these compositions, his paintings stand out for their ability to provoke reflection and emotion, while remaining anchored in the aesthetics of Street Art.
