This artwork is a mesmerizing mosaic of patterns and colors that capture the essence of Japanese aesthetics. Assembled with impressive detail, each section of this composition exploits a palette that is both traditional and contemporary. The upper left and right corners of the work feature branches of cherry blossoms, an indisputable testament to hanami, allowing the viewer to feel the sweetness of the Japanese spring season. Immediately below, an array of modern geometric shapes intertwined with classical motifs, such as a bright red fan and lanterns, adds depth and dynamism. In the center, a stylized figure evokes the image of a geisha (after Ikko Takana), with her clean-lined kimono and mysterious face. This centrality provides a visual focal point that draws the viewer's gaze toward the cultural core of the work. To the right, a majestic simplified representation of Mount Fuji dominates the landscape, accentuated by hues of azure white and blue. The soft curves and sharp lines convey the serenity and majesty of the famous volcano. In love with our blue planet, Sophie follows her inspiration wherever it comes from, as long as the common thread is, mainly the Environment, more precisely the Natural Elements. She uses contrast to bring out the light, tries to get to the essential, with the grace of the natural.
Sophie is a French artist, born in Paris in 1964. Listed at i-CAC, present on the international art market for 20 years.
Graduated as a “decorative painter" from the Art et Métier Institute for Decorative Mural Art;
Frescoes and Trompe-l'oeil.
