Born in 1993 in Paris, Paul de Toytot trained in the art of engraving at La Cambre, a prestigious Brussels school where he lives and works today.
After five years dedicated to mastering different printmaking techniques, he enriched his artistic approach by exploring painting. He integrated the printing processes that make his work unique. His works, produced in series, are structured around recurring themes such as plants and landscapes, while pursuing a constant quest for experimentation with color and graphics. These plant abstractions, both playful and profound, subtly question our relationship to existence, ecology and the place of living things in the world.
Oscillating brilliantly between vibrant expressionism and stylized geometry, he creates a fascinating balance between abstraction and figuration.
Like a walker who gets lost in the forest, Paul invites the viewer to immerse themselves in his paintings: to follow the meandering branches, to get lost in the different planes or to let themselves be enchanted by the play of chromatic intensities.
