Wardrobe items such as a scarf, a hat, and glasses both conceal and reveal a person's identity. Each object tells its own story, contributing to a larger picture of a life lived. Presentation
Katrin Rymsha, Experienced artist
Based in India, Born 1979
Katrin, a talented artist and painter, hails from Novosibirsk. Her love for color and her use of oil as a versatile medium, as well as watercolor for her studies from life, are distinctive features of her work. She transforms real-life images into subjective, semi-abstract forms, guided by her feelings and vision. Most of her works are created in an abstract expressionist style.
Growing up amidst the pristine nature of the Siberian region greatly influenced her artistic journey. During the summer months, she finds herself in Altai, where the grandeur of the mountains and the serene Blue Katun river infuse her with a unique energy. Her deep connection with the native environment kindled a desire to capture the fleeting beauty of shapes and colors, ultimately defining her creative path.
For over a decade, Katrin has worked with clay while simultaneously honing her painting skills. Some of her works feature complex textures, appearing as if they were sculpted with tactile sensations, embracing the interplay of light and shadow alongside color.
"In my painting, this experience is unconsciously repeated, only instead of clay, I sculpt images with paint. I appreciate the array of possibilities oil painting offers: it can be light and fluid like watercolor, or it can be impasto and sculptural like clay."
Although her works are all painted from life, she interprets them through her inner vision, conveying energy, a trace, and the very essence on canvas. Small formats allow her to quickly express moods and color impulses drawn from her surroundings.
Katrin is an accomplished artist with a profound mastery of academic painting. She is a member of the Union of Artists of Russia and holds a degree from the Novosibirsk State University of Architecture, Design, and Arts. She has also received training at a private art school in St. Petersburg. Her paintings are regularly showcased at Russian and international exhibitions, with many of her works gracing private collections.
One of the most significant aspects of Katrin's life is the process of creating her art. She travels extensively throughout Asia, gaining invaluable experiences and insights into different cultures, traditions, and knowledge, which she beautifully integrates into her creative work.
Her passion for helping those in need is both natural and an essential obligation for every person. Recently, she painted the walls of a girls' shelter for victims of sexual violence in Goa.
Through her art, Katrin articulates life, addressing pressing issues and the eternal questions of existence through the language of painting. Her aim is to reach the viewer on an emotional level and elicit a response. Her works are an act of expression and a conversation with contemporaries, inspiring the best feelings.
Katrin's unique ability to see the energy in things through color greatly contributes to her artistic process. This quality aids her in creating powerful and engaging artworks.
