The artwork captures the daily resilience and resourcefulness of individuals striving to earn a living in challenging circumstances. This concept focuses on the ways people make use of available resources—whether through small-scale trade, manual labour, or entrepreneurial efforts—to support themselves and their families.
The theme represents more than just economic activity; it speaks to the human spirit's adaptability and strength. It includes individuals who might use a single vehicle for multiple jobs, such as delivering goods, transporting people, or hauling supplies. Others may work with limited tools, repurposing or repairing items to extend their value.
Livelihood Survival acknowledges the struggle, pride, and creativity found in this way of life. It emphasizes that while each person may face different challenges, the shared pursuit of stability and dignity through hard work connects them.
Amid the vibrant energy of the bar—a space where stories are exchanged and lives intersect—the figure sits in quiet contemplation. Surrounded by patterns hinting at cultural roots and abstract emotions, this moment juxtaposes stillness and chaos. The tropical leaf, the swirling symbols, and the carefully arranged bottles all speak to a world alive with meaning, while the subject remains a calm observer, lost in thought.
