This work by RamZ was presented during "Calligraphy Symphony" organized by L'Epicerie Fine Art in Paris in January 2024.
The collective exhibition traces the journey of 3 street artists who compose with their own writing. In this case RamZ, takes us into his universe mixing urban art and Arabic calligraphy that we call "Calligraffiti".
The superposition of these dynamic patterns creates an effect of depth, like a vibrant dance of cultural elements. The dominant deep blue in the background forms a striking contrast with the pink bursts, reinforcing the visual intensity. Each brushstroke seems spontaneous, bringing a captivating and rhythmic energy.
This ensemble evokes a blending of ancient and modern traditions, suggesting both a rupture and a continuity in artistic history. The rich texture and movement suggest an exploration of the past and the present, prompting the viewer to question the harmony between chaos and order.

Ramzi Saibi, known as RamZ, is a Franco-Tunisian artist. He is the author of a contemporary Arabic calligraphy reflecting his dual culture, marked by multiple influences and which, skillfully, draws inspiration from tradition to reinvent itself and strive for novelty.
With a very modern and urban touch, the artist forges and sculpts shapes and symbols that interpret words. Is it a coincidence that in Arabic, the root of the first name "Ramzi" means "symbol"?
His works reflect the fusion between Arabic calligraphy and contemporary art, the symbiosis between two cultures, between two worlds, the East and the West. RamZ is part of this generation of artists of the movement called "Calligraffiti" mixing calligraphy and urban inspiration of graffiti. It is truly an art in the approach of writing and also in the movement of the body. With time and experience, RamZ turns more towards abstraction by adding texture to his works.
He insists that each of us is capable of reading calligraphy, even if we do not read Arabic:
"Over time, my works have become abstract because I no longer feel the need to be read, it is the language of each person's sensitivity and free interpretation that is advocated. When I discovered Arabic calligraphy, I could neither read nor write in the language and yet the attraction was omnipresent."
Reading calligraphy is above all a journey of the eye through the lines, angles, patterns and their arrangement to finally find an overall balance.
