Kwon Ji-an's Humming Letter #92 is a striking exploration of movement, emotion, and sensory depth. As part of her acclaimed Humming Letter series, this piece captures the fluidity of sound and its transformation into a textured visual language. The artist's expressive hand-applied technique creates a surface rich with depth and energy, inviting the viewer into a dynamic interplay of color and motion.
The painting radiates a vibrant dialogue between lush greens, deep blues, and fiery accents of orange, evoking the organic rhythm of nature—perhaps a wind-swept landscape or an ocean's restless surface. The swirling strokes and layered pigments create a sense of movement, as if the composition itself is in constant evolution.
Distinctive to this work is Kwon's signature handwritten script along the right edge, seamlessly integrated into the composition. This calligraphic element adds a poetic dimension, reinforcing the painting's connection to sound and rhythm. The absence of traditional brushwork further enhances the tactile quality of the piece, making it feel raw and instinctive, a direct extension of the artist's emotions onto the canvas.
Kwon Ji-an's Humming Letter series has established itself as one of her most evocative artistic endeavors, praised for its ability to translate emotion into form. Her work is increasingly sought after by collectors who appreciate its unique fusion of contemporary abstraction and personal storytelling.
Humming Letter #92 stands out not only for its composition but also for its immersive energy. The interplay of colors and textures makes it a captivating centerpiece, offering a different visual experience depending on the light and angle from which it is viewed. Its distinct blend of expressive abstraction and sensory resonance makes it an exceptional addition to any collection.
This mixed-media painting is in pristine condition, professionally maintained to ensure the integrity of its vibrant pigments and textured surface. The impasto layers of paint give the work a sculptural quality, shifting dynamically under different lighting conditions. It is a piece that must be seen in person to fully appreciate its depth and complexity.
Kwon Ji-an, known for her transition from music to fine art, has cultivated a deeply personal artistic language that integrates auditory and visual elements. The Humming Letter series is a reflection of her belief that music and painting exist in harmony, each influencing the other. Since her debut solo exhibition in 2012, she has continued to evolve, gaining international recognition for her multidisciplinary approach.
This work presents a rare opportunity to acquire a significant piece from one of Kwon Ji-an's most recognized series. Its rich textures, expressive movement, and deep emotional resonance make it a compelling acquisition for collectors who seek art that is both visually and conceptually engaging.

Presentation
Kwon Ji-an (born September 30, 1984), widely known as Solbi, is a South Korean multidisciplinary artist who has seamlessly transitioned from the world of K-Pop into the realm of contemporary art. Having debuted as a singer in 2006 as part of the group Typhoon, Kwon gained fame in the entertainment industry but later turned to art as a means of self-expression and healing. Over the years, she has developed a unique artistic language that blends painting, sculpture, installation, video, and performance art, earning recognition both in Korea and internationally. Kwon Ji-an's artistic journey is deeply personal, shaped by her experiences with fame, cyberbullying, and the limitations of verbal communication. She has openly shared how art became a sanctuary, allowing her to process emotions and reinvent herself beyond public scrutiny. Her works often explore themes of existence and nonexistence, the interplay of colors, and the balance between the tangible and the abstract. In her creative process, Kwon employs self-collaboration, integrating music and visual arts to form a unique convergence genre. She often forgoes traditional brushes in favor of using her hands, creating swirling landscapes filled with movement and emotion—an approach reminiscent of Impressionist masters like Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Vincent van Gogh. Additionally, she incorporates sound waves into her pieces, conceptualizing them as a “gravity of music through humming," reflecting her deep connection to auditory expression. Kwon Ji-an's first steps into the art world began with her debut solo exhibition in 2012, A Person's Way of Looking at the World, in Seoul. This marked the beginning of her evolution as an artist, leading to a series of acclaimed exhibitions. By 2015, she introduced her signature interdisciplinary approach, merging music and painting in her project TRACE, further cementing her status as an "art-tainer" —a term recognizing her ability to bridge entertainment and fine art. Her innovative contributions to contemporary art earned her the "Arttainer Division" award at the 2019 Korea First Brand Awards, highlighting her success in redefining the boundaries between pop culture and high art. "If my paintings can touch someone's heart and be part of their healing process, that would be amazing."
As she continues to push creative boundaries, Kwon Ji-an remains a compelling figure in contemporary art—an artist whose work is not just seen but felt. Her ability to transform personal struggles into powerful visual narratives has solidified her place as one of South Korea's most intriguing and influential modern artists.
