In her book: “The Art of the School of Paris after the War” Lise Cormery writes the biography of Catherine Reboul-Hector-Berlioz (1942-2010) of which here is an extract. “Catherine Reboul-Hector-Berlioz (1942-2010) is a French sculptor and oil on paper painter of original works. She studied Fine Arts in Florence, Italy and in Paris in the studio of Chastel and Rickert, then she studied boilermaking and welding at the Center technique de l'Aluminium Français. She worked on sculpture with Ervin Patkai (1937-1985). Charismatic and sympathetic woman, she tackles metal without subcontracting the work and the hard fight with the material as the "marketers" or the "actionnaires" will do from the 80s. Daughter of Rear-Admiral Georges (1889- 1954), great-grandson of Berlioz. Before her death, she bequeathed "The Reboul-Berlioz collection", which returned to the Hector Berlioz Museum on March 29, 2011. Reboul Berlioz created powerful, large-scale works in metal, most often monumental. Lise Cormery organized an exhibition for him in her gallery in 1988 with a catalog of his works, with a preface by Ghislaine Ottenheimer and a text by Véra Székely, major sculptor of the Post-War School of Paris. PARIS ARTS OLYMPIADES Catherine Reboul-Hector-Berlioz was part of the French selection for the Arts Olympiads organized by the Galerie Lise Cormery for the French National Olympic and Sports Committee in 1991 and 1992 in Paris, on the occasion of the 1992 Winter Olympics. This followed the Seoul Arts Olympiad where the city founded on this occasion a museum of painting and a museum of monumental sculptures in the open air with international artists invited to exhibit and represent art. of the XXth century. Presentation

Catherine Reboul-Hector-Berlioz (1942-2010) is a French sculptor and painter. She works by herself monumental metal sculptures.

Heir of the famous BERLIOZ composer she donates her Berlioz collection to the Hector Berlioz Museum on March 2011.

She is a very talented sculptor and creates very powerful and big metal sculptures, they will be exhibited in the Gallery of Lise Cormery with the publication of a catalogue with texts from Ghislaine Ottenheimer and sculptor Véra Székely.

She belongs to the French Selection of Art Olympiads organized by Lise Cormery Gallery for the French Olympic Committee in 1991 and 1992 in Paris. It was following the famous 1988 Art Olympiads in Seoul with its sculpture and painting museums founded for the event in order to invite and show the art of major international artists of the century.
