It is essential that the character of the patterns can be concentrated in a single instant. It is essential that the photographer presses the shutter button at the right time. All these prerequisites restrict the medium of photography and constitute its major weakness. A little too late or too early, a little too much to the left or to the right, a little too light or too dark, a little too big or too small and instead of a self-explanatory picture the result would only be a chance missed . Reality is fleeting. Peter Neusser solves this photography dilemma with his art. His “multiples” reconcile photography and reality. Instead of trying to portray reality, he simply captures it with his multiple exposures. It's an advantage, of course, that Peter Neusser is one of the few photographers who not only has an eye for the right motive and is able to think graphically, but he also has a complete technical knowledge of his medium.
When photographing multiples, it is important to listen to your artistic soul and to be able to work with mathematical precision, just like Peter Neusser does. And as a result, he manages to do something that practically cannot be done: his works, always created using analog photography, capture not just a single moment, but stories and experiences.
