Presentation
Stewood is an artist from Bordeaux with several strings to his bow: Photographer, visual artist, but also author-performer and director of video clips.
For his work as a photographer Stewood loves the portrait and the nude (mainly male), sexy but never vulgar, you always feel a spontaneity when you look at his photos.
His inspirations come from adolescence, he fell in admiration in front of the photos of great fashion photographers Jean-Batiste Mondino among others, but also sublime portraits of Peter Lindbergh, but his number one reference is Ellen Von Unwerth. He admires his unique style that we recognize immediately without having to read his name above the photo.
"She magnifies all her models, men, women, celebrities, strangers, I love her black and white so much, so licked, sometimes so clear and sometimes so blurred, but which still gives off something beautiful and mysterious, and then its strong and always very controlled contrasts. »
He collaborates on several occasions with the magazine LGBTQI + FRIENDLY for male nude editorials, one of his photos of which made the cover. He exhibits at EKKO gallery in Bordeaux, his photographs as well as his first book "Stewood et les Garçons" which brings together a period from 2013 to 2020.
He also exhibits his work as visual artists through collages that refer to Pop Culture. There is a patchwork of icons that have marked several generations, he adds touches of acrylic paint that bring a tangy touch to his work.
Singer-songwriter, he wrote and recorded an EP and two Studio albums, of which he produced his own clips. Stewood is a definitely POP artist where we all find ourselves in his multiple works. He lives and works in Bordeaux
