Presentation
A freelance photographer who grew up in Trouville-sur-Mer, Thomas started taking pictures of boats at an early age, using the film camera his mother had given him. But it was above all the arrival of digital photography that acted as an eye-opener. It allowed him to try new things, without them costing too much.
The world of the sea was then a great source of inspiration in terms of shapes, colors and proposals. It was also his work as a nautical journalist that pushed him to be creative. This encouraged him to come up with images that were different from those he was used to seeing.
Today, he leaves more room for spontaneity and puts technique at the service of his artistic approach by mixing materials and long exposures. My aim is to intrigue the person in front of my photograph. I like to create doubt in photography. It's about being at the crossroads between painting, drawing and photography.
