Artwork location: France

In this composition, both rich in textures and contrasts, the artist offers a visual dialogue between the opulence of luxury brands and the beauty of a traditional figure, the last in formation in a thousand-year-old culture. This striking mix demonstrates a deep reflection on identity, belonging and the tension between tradition and modernity. The central character, a woman with a serene but intense gaze, dresses elegantly. Her face is framed by an intricate crown of flowers and butterflies, each detail in black and white giving her unseen, almost mythological image. Traditional pearls and jewelry, along her neck, her connection with the past and the cultural wealth she embodies. Yet her expression is softened by touches of colored paint, evoking a certain modernity, a fusion between the old and the new world. Around this strong figure, the world of luxury is imposed by emblematic elements: a Louis Vuitton bag with a grenade set, a label with the name "Monaco", elegantly knotted silk ribbons. These symbols of modern consumption, prestige and the desire for distinction seem to collide with the timeless aura of women. The composition invites us to the place of tradition in a world by the culture of luxury and glamour.

The onomatopoeia "WHOA" that illustrates in a corner of the work echoes comics and pop culture, injecting a touch of surprise and dynamism into this otherwise vulnerable and contemplative material. This visual intervention seems to us that in a world saturated with brands and consumption, wonder and surprise can above all always. The juxtaposition of exoticism and modern luxury highlights a palpable tension: a beauty of beauty of beauty of timelessness and history coexist with the superficiality of consumption, traditions being swallowed up by the desire of possession.

David Cintract, Fusion of Worlds

Presentation

Born in 1970, French artist David Cintract lives and works in Paris since 1988.

A painter, visual artist, sculptor and photographer at the same time, he created the "Free Pop" movement, which is more a state of mind than an artistic movement in the classic sense of the word. A child of Pop art, his works are a combination of Warhol's and Lichtenstein's work, David Cintract draws his inspiration from the news, movies or comics to make a better use of color. A big lover of knowledge, he encourages us to meditate about and criticize our lifestyles, with his pieces of an out of place and childish artistic world.

Gaiety of colors and patterns, vivacity and communicative joy, but also deep questions and symbols, such is the trademark of David Cintract, who refuses ease and creates discrete connections between very poetic forces and dark impulses. Using techniques as diverse as oil painting, photography, inclusion or digigraphie, he works on all sorts of supports (paintings, models, cars etc) several of his subjects are related to our postmodern society like how man faces uncontrolled and frivolous consumption, fantasies and adult erotic games as well as the loss of childhood in a society that does not believe in dreams anymore.

David Cintract exhibits his work around the world and thanks to his universal artistic language, he creates deep exchanges with aundiences from all kinds of backgrounds and cultures.
