Presentation
Born in 1976, Sane2 has loved drawing from a young age. By the greatest of luck, he encountered graffiti in 1992 while leafing through one of the few specialized black and white photocopied fanzines from the capital. Completely fascinated by this new mode of expression and boosted by the thirst to defy the forbidden, he cut his teeth in vacant lots and in the street for several years.
His influences were from the start on the Parisian and New York scenes with in particular the acquisition of the book "Spraycan Art" which he considers as the ultimate reference. He began to paint more frequently and especially more seriously in 1997. It was that same year that he decided to devote all his time and energy to it in order to transform his passion into a way of life in its own right.
In 2000, he decided to found with two friends the artist collective Aero which quickly became THE benchmark graffiti structure in France by creating the first database on the internet dedicated to this movement. The website, which has become the essential meeting place for the French graffiti community, bears the brunt of the crackdown in 2004 and must close after a search and other letters rogatory.
It will take more to overcome the passion that drives Sane2. After joining the Bandits Dresden crew in 2002 (Madc / Slider / Wok / Plaque / etc.) He decided in 2005 with his collective to refocus its activities on the functioning of the Aero collective and its actions in the field. He coordinates and animates many initiation / improvement workshops in the practice of the aerosol can and sets up artists' gatherings and other exhibitions.
He embarked on tattooing in 2010. These new working techniques will lead him to travel a lot and to make many decorations for companies or individuals around the world. In 2011/2012 he coordinated the “Mémoire ouvrière” project and invited his friends to work on the memory of his childhood neighborhood by painting all of the small houses destined for demolition. This project will take on an unexpected scale and will have such success that the Caen authorities, including the Mayor in person, will support it despite initial reluctance. From this adventure was born the eponymous book “Mémoire Ouvrière” with a print run of 1000 and self-published by the Aero collective.
In September 2016, Sane2 and his colleague Bog Daddy opened a whole new place of alternative cultural mixing: Calvanostra Tattooshop & Gallery at 26 Rue du 11 Novembre in Caen. (14) The credibility of Sane2 on the graffiti / Street art scene is therefore well established and the adventure has only just begun!
