In his work, themes are constantly repeated. These are central themes of the artist's emotional, cultural, identity, training and unresolved trauma structure: sin, guilt, Catholic, patriarchal, authoritarian training and lifelong marriages.

All this in symbiosis with the humor with which Marcos Lopez usually works.

For this work, he took a photo of the back cover of his book taken for the first time. Then he copies the photo again with paint. By adding various elements such as an aura, fire, a shadow, the artist makes us think about the meaning of it all.

Marcos Lopez frequently works with depictions of saints, martyrs, angels and demons.

"The work of painted photos is a work of self-healing my fears and apocalyptic fantasies. By putting them on paper, I take them out of my body, for a moment at least."
