At first glance, the Joker Table captivates with its intricate design and impeccable attention to detail. Its surface, resembling a conventional table, belies the intricate mechanisms hidden beneath. Yet, it is upon closer inspection that the true marvel of this creation is revealed.
Embedded within the table's dial are two mesmerizing eyes, each intricately crafted to move in synchrony with the passage of time. As the hands of the clock glide gracefully across the dial, the eyes follow suit, creating an illusion of life within the static confines of the table. The dial itself takes on the semblance of a joker's face, each tick and tock echoing the mischievous grin of its namesake.
But the artistry of the Joker Table extends beyond its aesthetic appeal. The fusion of form and function is epitomized by the table's leather-clad band, exuding elegance and luxury in equal measure. Pedro Costa is an artist who makes artistic representations of a collectors favourite piece. He started making aeronautical furniture with aircraft parts now he has falling in love with the watch industry and for the last 8 years has been turning metal sheets into magnificent pieces of art as table clocks.
He has a design studio @costadesignco in Bogota and Mexico where artesans work for months in one single piece. All the work done at the studio is 100 percent artesanal.
Due to the complexity of the work he can only produce 30/35 pieces max per year.
The movement has been developed in partnership with Sinclair Harding in the UK a company who have been making complex movements for the last 49 years.
