This magnificent sculpture, with its resolutely modern and bold allure, embodies a harmonious fusion of forms and textures. The piece stands proudly, slender and majestic, subtly evoking a human presence while remaining firmly anchored in abstraction. The work is characterized by a solid base from which rises an elongated structure, subject to a subtle twist. The materials used are skillfully contrasted. The right side of the sculpture has a smooth and textured surface, marked by delicate imprints, perhaps reminiscent of water waves or wind ripples. This play of textures adds a tactile dimension to the work, inviting the viewer to explore each detail. In contrast, the left side is decorated with linear and repeated patterns, similar to veins or striations, accentuating the verticality of the piece. This contrast of patterns highlights the artist's mastery in the manipulation of materials and textures. The upper part of the sculpture is dominated by a discreet but significant opening, which could symbolize a head or a window to the soul of the work. Presentation
My universe is deeply inspired by the Neolithic world, the large-scale representations of the first traces of man, the dolmens, the menhir statues or the imposing cairns. Who are these builders, with what techniques and knowledge were they able to create these forms? It is the whole free field left by silence to these questions that is a source of inspiration, dialogue, research. And closer to us, the charm and spirituality of the temples of the 11th and 12th century of Japan.
My sculptures form a constellation of points, like a taut arc that connects us to these unfathomable origins, to nature, to space.
"I like to let myself be guided by impulses. The sculpture is built as I go along. I always try to create transparency, light effects by playing with the black of the wood licked by the flame, the orange gradients of the Douglas pine, the silver reflections of the steel.
Next to my studio, I have created a space of truth. The sculptures thus arranged must give me emotions, sensations, like a magnetic current."
