A intense, dramatic, rich and vibrant piece of art. The level of detail draws the viewer in to explore and analyse. Painted using a variety of media including acrylic, resin, sand and it has a high gloss varnish finish that gives a look of luxury.

Presentation
Artist Statement:
I'm a designer and artist based in Standish that is a village in between Liverpool and Manchester. After graduation from Art College I spent 15 years working as a freelance surface pattern designer, creating pattern for the worldwide interior furnishings industry. Inspired by the vibrancy of Kandinsky and the complexity of Morris from a very early age art has always been my obsession, my joy, my love but as the computer became essential in the design process my passion dwindled and I took an opportunity to start a teaching career combined with professional painting . Painting gives back all the freedom and so much more, there are no rules, no restrictions, just pure exploration and creativity.
I use oils, acrylics and often experiment with resins and I work on board, canvas and use quality papers.
Inspired by my love of flowers and British landscape and seascapes, my art continues to grow and evolve making new discoveries every day.

Artistic Influences:
My first love of art was Kandinsky, I was mesmerised by the intensity of colour and movement. I find colour and pattern beautiful and remember being amazed by the intricate work of William Morris. My influences are too long to list but all of them such as Klimt, Liberty, the architecture of Venice all involve intricacy and pattern.
