In the upper right corner, a vertical inscription in Japanese reads: 花鳥風月 (Kachou Fuugetsu) — Japanese hieroglyphs, which are translated separately as "flowers, birds, wind, moon", but together make the phrase "Beauty of nature". Joanna Misoteri is a professional artist whose works uniquely blend traditional Eastern motifs with contemporary artistic techniques. Inspired by 19th-century Japanese woodblock prints, natural landscapes, and cultural imagery from China, Japan, and Southern countries, Joanna creates textured, three-dimensional compositions using acrylic paints, texture paste, epoxy resin, and alcohol inks. Her pieces transform the canvas into tactile artworks of art, offering a captivating 3D effect.
Joanna's formal training in fine arts began in art school and continued at the Faculty of Graphic Arts, providing her with a solid foundation for her professional journey. Her participation in various workshops and courses has allowed her to explore innovative combinations of materials and styles. Always seeking to develop a distinct artistic language, Joanna's work is defined by harmony, aesthetic beauty, and a profound appreciation for the natural world.
