Kaixuan Feng is a Chinese artist, born in 1982, currently living in Lille. After four years of studying at the School of Fine Arts of Tianjin in China, she moved to France to study and experience the beauty of Contemporary Art. In 2010, she got the higher national diploma of plastic art expression (DNSEP).
Her work focuses mostly on her painting on coffee filters or with her hair, to transpose traditional techniques in everyday spaces.
Making of her life a work of art, is the path Kaixuan Feng has taken in order to concretize an articulated artistic approach around the concept of sharing and the public/private relationship. Trained as a painter, she now creates events through performance art. Photography, video and painting allows her to create the event, but also to produce a record of it. By creating the circumstances of the meeting, she tries to create connections between life and art, between her intimate space and that of others. Everyday life objects often reflect in her work the transition from the private to the public sphere.
