Presentation

Thierry Noir is a French artist known for his iconic and colorful mural paintings on the Berlin Wall. Born in 1958 in Lyon, France, Noir moved to Berlin in 1982 and became one of the first artists to paint the infamous Wall. His bold and distinctive style, characterized by exaggerated outlines and vibrant colors, helped transform the Wall into an open-air gallery. Noir's murals often featured abstracted faces and figures, reflecting a sense of hope and defiance amidst the division and political turmoil of the time. His art became a symbol of resistance and a powerful representation of the desire for freedom.

Today, Noir's work is recognized worldwide, and his contributions to the cultural and artistic legacy of Berlin remain significant.
