Along the water

My motto: I live my life and enjoy it.

My world :

- The sea, sailing, surfing

-The scent of the Basque coast

-The scent of iodine

-The love of artists, the love of sharing my passion for life, for nature, for people.

-The desire to give and transmit.

Foreword:

Born in the Basque Country, now based in ASCAIN, never too far from the sea, since childhood I have devoted my free time to the practice of drawing and began to draw and paint from the age of three.

Later, I experimented a lot with the work of shadows with pencil, charcoal and India ink. Between nine and fourteen years old, I took a few plastic arts lessons and I dabbled in a bit of everything in this area. I sculpt, I do a lot of enamels, work on mosaics. Finally, I start painting, first with gouache. Then I paint on small supports with watercolors, on porcelain and various decorative objects where I attach myself to a precise work.

In recent years, I have been working on large formats and different techniques. I started painting in oils, pastels and now a preference for acrylic.

The marine theme fascinates me; probably because my father gave me the taste for navigation. I have loved family holidays and weekends since I was little with my parents on their boat. From there, was born my pronounced taste for painting the sea. I meet my husband, an excellent navigator and passionate with whom I sail.

On a boat life is punctuated by the movement of the sea and we take the time to live as I take the time to paint and the hours go by peacefully.

Self-taught, during all these years, dreaming of making painting my job, I always wanted after the BAC to go to FINE ARTS but it was then that my dear parents opposed it, considering at the time, this environment too marginal for their taste. He asks me to choose another path; I then headed towards aesthetics, a profession that I practiced until this summer of 2022. But I discreetly cultivated my passion for painting and never stopped painting for my greatest pleasure but always in the dark.

Now, for a few months, I unfortunately lost my parents who finally enjoyed looking at my paintings and encouraged me to open up a little more in this artistic field.

My good Star tells me that it's time and now at 57 years old it's a bit of myself that I reveal to you.

Today:

My figurative painting essentially revolves around the representation of water based on acrylics and pastels.

My artistic practice gives me the freedom to express myself without constraints, if not to convey a certain emotion to try to please. I am starting today without having gone through an art school while keeping my freedom and my singularity.

When I start a canvas, my greatest pleasure is to let myself be guided by my brushes and my fingers and see the material come to life. I then dive into colors, reflections, transparencies, shapes and curves. From there, I let myself be carried away by the movements of the water and I surf between freedom and poetry. It is a magical moment when time fades away and gives way to great serenity. My creations are always a statement and a look at a threatening reality for the oceans. I like to highlight the beauty of the sea to raise awareness and empower us in the face of pollution.

These current threats are very real and present in our environment. So let's try to respect this beautiful great lady who is the sea.
