Céline de Abreu da Luz was born in 1980 in Toulouse. Of Franco-Portuguese origin, Céline began her career in aesthetics and sales before becoming a professional painter. “I have been drawing since I was little and I am passionate about reproducing photos and images. Everything became a drawing medium.” explains this talented self-taught woman. It was at the age of 38, following a car accident, that her life shifted towards something better for her: painting. Céline returns to her first loves which were always hidden deep in her heart since her earliest childhood. “The meaning of life, the coherence of humanity, truth, faith in humanity, justice are points which have always punctuated my paths and my choices and which, now, punctuate my choices of paintings.”

"No words. Just feel." is, in a way, Céline's personal slogan. What she cannot express in words, she expresses through her art and paintings. These serve as intermediaries, even translators of feelings, when the latter remain without oral expression. This is certainly why her works are so eloquent, as if they proclaim the inner things that Céline treasures. “I use photos that will touch me, to which I add my personal touch to make my oil paintings.” Céline de Abreu uses oil for all her works. Salvador Dali, Marilyn, The Mona Lisa, the iconic figures are global and recognizable by everyone. The artist appropriates them to create his own paintings, an extremely difficult exercise as the references are known to a wide audience. It is a success because it is successful and appreciated by visitors.

“My paintings are a reflection of what I feel deep in my soul, having transformed what I capture that is most disturbing into something more luminous… I am very sensitive when people (…) vibrate positively by discovering my work, my life then takes on meaning and perhaps I no longer need to hide."

L'Apaisée, L'Âme en peace, Percée, Have been loved, certain themes revolve significantly around the soul, feelings, a need for inner peace. A pictorial dive into the human soul, sometimes so tormented, to which Céline seems to want, through her works, to bring a new serenity and a peace that escapes humans. A sort of unconscious art therapy that pushes visitors to his exhibitions to come and find what they are missing. Humans are injured in a brutal world and the artist tries to bring a little gentleness and beauty while contemplating his creations and recharging his batteries.
