Bonom, whose real name is Vincent Glowinsky, is a French street-art artist born in Paris in 1986. On leaving high school, he left for Brussels with the prospect of studying the visual arts there. From 2005, he began to create, at night, monumental frescoes on the walls of Brussels, arousing surprise in Brussels passers-by who wonder about the artist's mysterious identity. In 2010, the mystery ended following the arrest in flagrante delicto of the artist then sued for willful damage to buildings. Opinions are divided between the duty to punish these acts considered to be vandalism in the eyes of the law and respect for the obvious artistic quality of the graffiti. The Belgian justice finally decides to grant his clemency and condemns him to community service. Vincent Glowinsky likes to create deliberately provocative works in order to catch the attention of his audience. For example, he made a graffiti representing a woman who caresses herself and another where we can see a naked and gaunt old man. Vincent Glowinski has today turned his back on his alter ego Bonom and formalized his artistic identity with an exhibition of drawings and photos attracting many curious in 2014 in Brussels: Bonom, the Lame Monkey.
