Born on January 2, 1972 in Metz, Christophe Jacquemot feels the need, since his childhood, to invent his universe where he takes refuge to give free rein to the expression of his artistic fiber, sometimes in natural materials, sometimes mineral.

During the preparation of his Bachelor's degree in Philosophy and Visual Arts, he explored this approach in search of relief, intrados or other forms of pictorial expression by trying various techniques.

He moves away partially from his passion without turning his back on him. For more than twenty years, he could express himself and conceptualize his talent in the event and decoration. During this period, he rubs shoulders with the greatest architects, which allows him to assert himself in the work of volumes, space, the fluidity of shapes and light.

Black fascinates him, influenced by works that captivate him, he decides to resume his quest for matter and light.

He left his small apartment in the 12th arrondissement to buy a house near Paris that gave him the space to create his own studio where he can assert his talent through his first paintings.

In 2015, noticed by a contemporary art lover, he exhibited in a luxurious showroom in Saint-Germain des Prés. A black and white box that will allow him to showcase his first works. This exhibition is entitled: "And why the black would not be a color? Success is immediate ...

He then leads a fascinating reflection on the role of this color (or not color) through the light that emerges from his works, the reliefs he creates and sculpts in an organic mortar on canvas. Technique of which he made his peculiarity and strength and which gives him a true identity of Painter.

He works this material in black and the carvings, streaks and effects furrowed by the emotions of the artist become an imaginary fabric where the light rushes, in a color chart of always different black.

Thus, he places his energy in the web that he works and which is never static but evolutive according to the light and the place where it is exposed. His philosophy of life being close to the "Carpe Diem", he wants to enjoy all the beauty of the Black and approach it in a geometric aspect. When asked the question: Why the black?

He likes to see there the rainbow of the Black that he faces in a delicate way with a raw color: he wants to separate the dark side of the Black from the light. Through his subtle compositions, one must appeal to his imagination to read a story or see through shadows, fortuitous images.
