Marc Philip

Marc Philip was born in Wakefield, England in 1958. He grew up in Italy until he came of age and after a brief stay in England left for Holland where he lived for 10 years before returning to Milan to become a photographer ( fashion). His work naturally took him to London and Paris. Once settled in France, his curiosity for antiques drove him to start as an art dealer, which led him to design furniture and soon, "return" to painting. 'Back to painting' because Marc started in his teenage years and what was once fun is now passion. Self-taught, his school is the constant contact with his work, which leads him to admire art deco, a period of design and impressionism until late modernism in painting. “The most important thing is that my work is not linked to an artist or an era, that what I do is 'Marc Philip'; innovate and not follow. My signature is in my paintings ”.
