Nancy Grünk

Born in Marseilles, of Vietnamese origin, trained in the fashion industry as a stylist and textile designer, Nancy Grünk describes herself as a graphic artist.

After working for several years in the fashion industry, she moves from fabric to canvas without dropping her pencils but where she will find more freedom to express her feelings.

In 2005, she will start working with grey pencils and Indian ink (exercises referring to her grandfather who was himself a painter specialized in ink work). In 2010 an apprenticeship in Calligraphy and some Graffiti are on the horizon.... The mixture of Calligraphy and Graffiti (what is called Calligraffiti) seduces her but is not enough.

Of great curiosity and wanting to be free of all dictates, the artist explores all the universes through abstraction, and very quickly themes are set up with Woman metis, the Cells, Blue mind.... The message then becomes as important as the aesthetics of the work which according to Kandinsky "The form is the expression of the inner content".                        

It is in this universe that the canvas then becomes for Nancy Grünk a space where she paints, writes, expresses a thought... A gesture... A word... An emotion.
