Presentation
In the mid-1980s Juan grew up in the “11th arrondissement” in Paris. At the time, this district was also undergoing restructuring: constructions and renovations underway revealed a wealth of supports to be painted.
By taking possession of the premises, by progressing with them, he has deployed his style and his network.
In the 90s within the MAC group, the formats of his painting explode in large frescoes.
His friendships sealed at the foot of the walls, around this new urban and graphic vocabulary, led him in 2001 to participate in the creation of the “Kosmopolite” festival, devoting the emerging graffiti scene.
His universe has grown over time with this hybrid influence made up of lines of music, letters and graphic vocabulary. For him, sounds are also images. He uses repetition to transcribe an effect of rhythm on his canvases-like a delay effect that repeats and layers the echo of a musical note as many times as desired. He builds his canvases like a piece, poses his colors and his trace, to create harmony, reactions.
His Spanish origins influence his paintings in the composition, colors and lights of a sunny country. The architectures of Paris and Barcelona are another source of inspiration: that of Gaudi, rounded and colored by mosaics and that of the Haussmann style, angular and straight.
