Chidimma Nwafor is a Visual Artist (Painter), born in Anambra, Nigeria in 1995. She earned her bachelor's degree in Fine and Applied Arts (a painting major) from the University of Benin, Edo, Nigeria in 2017.
Her works are majorly representational imagery of both black males and females with different bodily and facial expressions. She speaks volumes on the issue of emotions that are either personal or emotions derived from the immediate environment.
She explores the impressionism and realism styles of paintings using vibrant colors combined with the use of reflected light from the background of the painting.
She has participated in several group exhibitions which include Thought Pyramid Gallery's Next of kin Juried Art exhibition(2022), Life In My City Juried Art Exhibition(2021), An Opening Group Art Exhibition; Moriri Art Gallery, Port Harcourt(2020), Vivid Exclusive Gallery's Inside Life Art exhibition (2020), Pop-up Art salon, Rivers,(2020), amongst others. She was among the 10 finalists for the Next of Kin Annual juried art exhibition 2022, and she also qualified for the Top 100 artists for the Life in My city art competition/ juried exhibition.
She has been featured in Smepeaks Magazine titled “7 Nigerian Female Painters Rocking The Male-Dominated Profession Stylishly" (2020), Artist of the Week 7-14 July 2020 -1 Human Journal, “Black Bodies, Gray Matters" Magazine published by Ake Festival in the year 2019.
Chidimma currently resides in Lagos, Nigeria, where she works as a full-time artist.
