Jack Garofalo is a French photographer, born in 1924.
Jack Garofalo worked in the beginnings of the Paris Match newspaper, in the first team which was formed by Jean Prouvost, who was the former director of the Paris-Soir magazine, a famous newspaper of the 30s.
Jack Garofalo evolved at the heart of the golden age of the French Press scoops. A dilettante photographer, Jack Garofalo took the amateurism of his debut as a chance to built a gap, that was necessary, between his work and the temporary enthusiasm of the public. His humoristic approach touches the celebrities without getting trapped by them.
Jack Garofalo felt under the spell of Saint-Tropez and its beaches, at a time when they were still empty, the photographer travels to the ends of the world to try to relive those moments of solitude and he brings back with him, in his luggage a false indifference that lets him wait for the perfect time.
