Born on December 17, 1968 in Cap-Haïtien. He is a Haitian painter.
He began painting in 1973 with Antoine Obin, Grand Master of the Cap-Haitian School. It is from 1988 that he develops his own style, depicting all kinds of wild and familiar animals that in a free and colorful ballet recreate the turbulent history of mankind. Zéphirin says with a smile: "Look carefully, in every man there is an animal; a monkey, an elephant, a crocodile, a giraffe... I see them in a gesture, an attitude, a trait of character and immediately fix them on the canvas".
His work also includes many paintings whose esoteric mystical subjects take us to parallel worlds.
Frantz Zéphirin is also an artist of encounters. He has collaborated with many artists of his time: murals, paintings with several hands with Préfète Duffaut, Jose Bédia, Aparecida de Ozedo, Ermelinda Ozias, Diagne Channel, Étienne Chavannes, Pascale Monnin, Edouard Duval Carrié, etc..
His paintings have made the front page of several prestigious magazines: The New Yorker, Le Temps, The New York Times, The Smithsonian Magazine...
One of these paintings made the cover of The Immaculate Invasion by Bob Shacochis, New York Times bestseller.
