Presentation
Born in 1985, Robert Nava is an American visual artist, championing a highly-personalized style of painting which he has affectionately coined “bad painting.” The artist creates his work through an unbridled use of spray paints and grease paints, resulting in large-scale and chaotic depictions of human figures. Somewhat a rejection of the standards of traditional artistic standards, the artist’s work invites the viewer to engage with the childish playfulness of his figurations.
The artist has featured his work in galleries and exhibitions over the world, and his work is permanently featured at Paris’ Museum of Modern Art. His other solo showcases include Bloodsport (2022) at Night Gallery, Robert Nava (2021) at Pace East Hampton, Robert Nava (2021) at Pace Palm Beach, Robert Nava: Angels (2021).
