This artwork is a synthesis of combinations, as in its architectural and celestial elements, the composition blending both realism and abstraction as well as the interplay of different light sources. The images' vertical lines and intertwined geometric forms create the illusion of an endless vortex evoking a sense of infinite ascent. The contrast between the deep shadows and illuminated facades culminating in the brightly lit focal point not only enhance the images depth, but also suggests a journey from darkness to enlightenment. The use of a specific camera lighting mode often used by portraitists has resulted in large amounts of dark negative space punctuated by the buildings interior lighting, mimicking stars whilst creating a sense of weightlessness in that the entire structure seems to be in levitation. The artworks monochromatic palette was chosen to underscore the photos abstract nature and futuristic feel, blurring the lines between reality and imagination.
This artwork forms part of a limited edition of 10 fine art prints. Each edition is printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art Photo Rag paper by a master printer using archival pigment inks. This process of elaboration produces museum-quality prints that will last for years. Each print is numbered, hand signed, and is delivered with a certificate of authenticity.
