In gold, full frame: Capri announces itself with the sun. On this dazzling background, Luxxo presents itself in bust and front, bordered by a nervous black line doubled by white. The favorite character of GNelly, round silhouette and eyes in an X, docks on the most elegant island in the Bay of Naples.

The head is cut in two, like day and night. On the left, a navy blue almost black, topped with a deep red. On the right, white, sky blue and a touch of pink. The eyes invert accordingly: white X on the dark side, black X on the light side. A white seam follows the curve of the skull, a few vertical lines run under the left eye, and on the forehead stands a black crown with three points.

This crown comes onto the chest, white this time, placed on a navy blue square. The motif is dear to street art since Basquiat, and it finds a particular echo here: Capri was an island of emperors before being that of the dolce vita. Around it, the body mixes raspberry, fuchsia, sky blue, olive and orange, in knife-worked flat areas. One reads a spiral, a grid, small crosses that respond to the gaze, a red sun with spiky rays, a white daisy. A red grid reminds of a trattoria tablecloth, and yellow discs scattered on the blue arm with lemons. The name Luxxo, however, is inscribed on the shoulder.

A fine black frame hand-painted borders the composition. Luxxo is read a second time vertically on the right edge, and the signature of GNelly is inscribed in white in a tone-on-tone cartouche, bottom right.

The car body varnish completes giving the painting its character. It stretches over the yellow a smooth and deep surface, which recalls the gleam of enameled ceramic. The colors gain intensity, the reliefs of the paint catch the light, and the reflections of the piece are drawn in it like in a mirror.

A unique piece, luminous and full of character, between pop art and urban art, signed and delivered with its certificate of authenticity.
