Passengers - Julien Calot

Paris From October 15, 2020 to November 21, 2020

Presentation

Discover the unpublished works of the artist Julien Calot in his personal exhibition, "Passengers" at the Galerie Claire Corcia.

“We are a bit of a passenger in our own lives. As if time and the flow of life decide for us and take us in their whirlpools. I have long, in the past, tried to "control the path" and change the direction of the current, until I struggled and exhausted myself, to finally discover, recently, the immense joy of just being carried away, and to savor the sensations of every moment », writes Julien Calot.

Through a superb coherent set of forty acrylic paintings on canvas of medium and large formats, we witness an explosion of life, the spectacle of an exuberant nature, a poetic refinement, flying fish, whirlpools birds and dreamy and enigmatic characters who float with serenity in large colored spaces, like the '' passengers '' of a luminous dream. For those who have followed Julien Calot's work for a long time, his intense and intact joy of painting and his boundless energy are still there. But the artist has matured. The joy is more measured, almost intimate, mysterious, disturbing: an inner well-being, calm, radiates.
