Biography
Frédéric Delanglade (1907-1970) was a French painter, illustrator, and writer close to Surrealism. In 1947, at the request of André Breton, he created one of the Twelve Altars for the International Surrealist Exhibition at the Galerie Maeght and ensured the graphic unity of the Surrealist card game. He also contributed to the illustration of, alongside Dalí, Buffet, and Cocteau, in a book presented as the most expensive in the world. After the war, he continued a body of work marked by frescoes and literary illustrations.
