Biography
The Resurrection, the energy which acts in these frescoes, breathes an energy to the artist, coming from elsewhere, passes through him. When Eva David paints, when she writes, she is crossed. Thrace, the old name of present-day Bulgaria, contains in its Rhodope mountains, the Balkan massif, the place where Orpheus lost his Eurydice, the gap of loss. To lose, and to do work. What makes creation possible is prayer.
