Biography

Herbert Knotel was a german artist, son and pupil of the famous uniformologist and military historian Richard Knotel. He served as officer under Marshal Hindenburg in the Prussian Army, and being wounded in the WWI.  After the war he came back to Berlin to continue his work, run the Berlin Zeghaus Museum and preserve the family business. His drawings are considered some of the most faithful, refined and punctual representations of the military uniforms of the Modern Age.
