Biography

Ana Saut is an interdisciplinary artist and abstract painter with more than 20 years of professional experience in contemporary art. Her career includes over 50 solo exhibitions, international biennials, artist residencies and multidisciplinary projects across Europe, Asia and the United States. Her works are held in private collections internationally and in a museum collection, and her practice has been featured in art books, catalogues and publications.

With a background in Fine Art, design and psychology, Saut further developed her interdisciplinary practice through an educational programme at the Museum of Modern Art, bringing together artistic research and psychological approaches.

Her broader practice spans mixed-media installation, painting, collage, artist books, video and sound. On Artsper, she presents the painting-focused dimension of her work: abstract compositions in oil and acrylic on canvas, as well as collage.

Saut is a colorist whose visual language is built through refined color relationships, rhythm, texture and compositional balance. Her abstract works are emotionally charged yet open-ended, allowing color itself to become the central carrier of meaning.

Among the notable milestones of her international career are the Arte Laguna Prize in Venice, where she was selected as a finalist and exhibited at the Arsenale; the International Biennale of Young Contemporary Art “Stop! Who's There?"; and an exhibition at SOMArts in San Francisco.
