Description
This vibrant artwork masterfully captures the essence of rural village life. A dirt road weaves through the heart of the scene, dividing rustic homes with thatched roofs. The lively village is depicted with vivid greenery and flourishing gardens, showcasing the community's connection to nature. Villagers of all ages engage in daily activities: children play games, a woman balances goods on her head, and others indulge in lively conversations. An oxen-drawn cart adds to the quaint, pastoral atmosphere. Brightly colored clothing adds energy, while the distant blue hills set a serene backdrop. The composition skillfully blends intricate details with a harmonious palette, highlighting the richness of communal life and the intimate connection between the villagers and their environment. This artwork stands out for its dynamic portrayal of everyday life and its celebration of culture and tradition.
Presentation
Born in 1953 in Passo Fundo, a city in the south of Brazil. She started working at the age of 16 for a publishing house. Married with two children, she left for São Paulo where she had her first solo exhibition at the São Paulo Art Museum in 1983, invited by Professor Pietro Maria Bardi.
She also exhibits individually at the Uniao Cultural Brazil-EUA Gallery in São Paulo (1987), at the Nini Barontini Gallery in Curitiba (1996) and at the Jacques Ardies Gallery in São Paulo (2008). Abroad, she participates in several group exhibitions in the United States, Spain, Russia, Malaysia, France, Israel and Monaco, among others.
His compositions, inspired by the countryside and the tropical forest of Brazil, represent village scenes populated by beautiful, happy and very healthy people. Mara likes to represent the work during the harvest, but also other moments of the life of the countryside, such as the hours of relaxation and the festive commemorations.
